What is the book about?

„Naznaczony” jest powieścią łączącą elementy low fantasy (klimat historii, dojrzałość świata, brutalność) z high fantasy (wiele ras z unikalnymi mocami) i poczuciem humoru. Taki mam styl 🙂

The story is about „Silent Death” Reyn, the best bounty hunter on the continent who one day barely survives an assassination attempt with the help of an unexpected ally. Surprised, he doesn't recognize the symbols worn on the palms of the assassins and realizes one thing - whoever hired them won't let go after one defeat. To prepare himself for the future he tries to gather intelligence about this organization and just survive in a world where from being a hunter, he becomes hunted instead.

What he doesn’t know at the moment is another reason for their interest in him. A mark imprinted on his soul by a mysterious hooded man many years ago, a god running from a war of the gods.

Po kolejnym udanym zleceniu powraca do miasta-organizmu Avebium, by odebrać resztę honorarium, a niedługo później ledwo uchodzi z życiem z przygotowanego na niego zamachu. Ku swemu zaskoczeniu nie rozpoznaje symboli na dłoniach swych niedoszłych zabójców, ale pewien jest jednego – ktokolwiek pragnie jego śmierci, nie odpuści po jednej porażce. By przygotować się do nadchodzącej walki postanawia zebrać informacje o tajemniczej organizacji, która z jakiegoś powodu chce jego śmierci i przetrwać w świecie, w którym z łowcy, stał się ściganym. Nie wie jednak, że zwrócił na siebie ich uwagę również z innego powodu. Z powodu znaku, który dawno temu zostawił na jego duszy pewien zakapturzony mężczyzna. Bóg uciekający przed wojną na innych planach egzystencji.

On his journey, he’ll team up with unusual allies with their own goals, like wraith trapped inside sacred armor or demi-god sage with telekinetic powers and together while searching for this mysterious organization they’ll uncover the biggest secrets ever known to this harsh world. A world that has to adapt to the deadly phases of the moon, where whole centuries are missing from the pages of history like they never existed.

"The Empty Ages," they call them. Ages from which no manuscript, no book, no parchment, no story and no witnesses survived. All that remains are the effects of these times shrouded in a fog of mystery. Ancient battlefields, mysterious new races and the ruins of cities inhabited by monsters, the construction of which no one even remembers.

And when searching for answers, Reyn discovers that the threat he is facing is much bigger than he expected, bigger than him alone. What at first seemed like a struggle for survival may well decide the fate of the Gods and the entire world.
